Petros Christofis, PhD

Dr. Christofis current research interests include the synthesis of new macromolecular carriers able to deliver platinum compounds to cancer cells.

Petros Christofis was born in Athens in 1978. In 2000, he received his B.Sc. Degree from the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2003, he defended his M.Sc. thesis in Bioinorganic Chemistry and in the year 2006, he received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Chemistry Department of the University of Ioannina, majoring in the synthesis and study of anticancer ruthenium and platinum compounds. During his master and Ph.D dissertation he worked under the supervision of Dr. N.Katsaros at the laboratory of Bioinorganic Materials and Biomolecules, at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, NCSR “Demokritos”, on fellowship.
