Dr. Evangelos C. Bellis has joined the company as a chemist specialized in the field of Organic Synthesis. Dr. Bellis is responsible for the synthesis of dendrimers presenting drug-carrier properties and the synthesis of natural products exhibiting possible anti-inflammatory and anticancer activity. Prior to his appointment with company, Dr. Bellis had participated in various research programs funded by the Greek Government and the E.C.

In 2000, he received his B.Sc. Degree from the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2002, he defended his M.Sc. thesis in Organic Chemistry and in the year 2005, Dr. Bellis received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Chemistry Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, majoring in the synthesis and study of the properties of dendritic compounds and the synthesis of organocatalysts, under the supervision of Professor George Kokotos.
His research experience concerns the synthesis of new dendrimeric materials with catalytic activities, the synthesis of dendrimers modified at the periphery exhibiting amphiphilic properties, the synthesis of unnatural amino acids and diamines from commercially available a–amino acids, the synthesis of bioisoster analogues of natural a–amino acids and organocatalysis. Dr. Bellis has been cited more than 25 times in the international scientific literature according to the ISI Web of Science service.
